There is always a risk of carbon monoxide accumulation when the engine is running, the boat is moving slowly or at a standstill, all the doors are shut, or when using burning fuel-based devices. 

To minimize the danger:

• Do not rev the engine or idle it unnecessarily.

• Avoid using a canopy or side curtains. If you do use them, always ensure sufficient ventilation.

• If you have a convertible top, operate with the forehatch open and leave the cabin door open.

• Do not use appliances operating on burning fuel such as charcoal, propane, LPG, CNG or alcohol cooking devices in the cabin or other closed areas when anchored, moored or docked. Only use them in areas where fresh air can circulate.

• Leave enough space between the engine and any obstacle.

• Inspect the exhaust system regularly.

• Keep the doors and windows open if the stove is being used inside.

• If the boat is at a standstill or moving slowly and the back door is open, there is a crossbreeze.
